Notification widget disappears.

I’ve repeated thsi a couple of times, not sure what is happening.

When playing (specifically a podcast) I will only see the song name and controls (no album picture).

The data displayed will then start blinking off and on a few times, then will vanish completely. The way it’s blinking makes it look like it’s doing this on purpose, but in the end it gives me a blank widget.
